Christopher Columbus Promenade

The Paseo de Cristóbal Colón is a 770-metre avenue running along the Guadalquivir river, between the San Telmo Bridge and the Isabel II Bridge (Triana Bridge). Along its length are landmarks such as the Torre del Oro, a 13th-century defensive structure declared a historic-artistic monument in 1931; the Maestranza bullring, a historic 18th-century building; and the Maestranza Theatre, an opera house and home of the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville. The Monument to Tolerance, a sculpture by Eduardo Chillida unveiled in 1992, can also be seen, along with the 19th-century Jardines de la Caridad, presided over by the monument to Miguel de Mañara. The promenade offers views of the Triana neighbourhood and has a tree-lined boulevard and pedestrian areas along the river. It is a popular place for walking and admiring the architecture and riverside scenery.
