The Church of St Bartholomew-St Mary is one of the historic parish churches in the centre of Murcia, with origins dating to the Christian conquest of the 13th century. The present building combines late-18th-century fabric in the central nave with a 19th-century main façade, the work of Justo Millán in an eclectic historicist style. Inside, with a Latin-cross plan, a single nave and side chapels, it holds an important collection of Baroque sculpture, with works by Francisco Salzillo, Nicolás Salzillo, Roque López and Juan González Moreno, as well as a Neoclassical altarpiece in the Servite chapel and a Modernist chapel with a crypt commissioned by the Servet family. It was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1983.
