The Seville Convention and Exhibition Centre, known as FIBES, is a large trade fair and conference venue in the Sevilla Este district, 5 km from the historic centre. Opened in 1989 and extended in 2012, it has two buildings linked by an exhibition walkway: FIBES I, with three column-free pavilions of 7,200 m² each, and FIBES II, with an auditorium seating more than 3,150 people and 620 m² of stage. The venue hosts a busy programme of trade fairs, conferences, concerts and shows. Recurring events include Mangafest (a video game and Asian culture festival), the International Flamenco Fashion Show (SIMOF) and the International Horse Fair (SICAB). It has hosted the Goya Awards (2019 and 2023), the MTV Europe Music Awards (2019) and the Latin Grammy Awards (2023), as well as international summits such as the EU summit in 2002 and the NATO defence ministers' meeting in 2007. The venue has a 900-space car park with natural light and is accessible by TUSSAM bus lines B4 and 27 and the Renfe Cercanías "Palacio de Congresos" station.
