Schönbrunn Zoo

Schönbrunn Zoo covers 17 hectares within the grounds of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna and forms part of a complex declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include Franz Josef Land, where a pool lets visitors watch polar bears swimming underwater, and the Polarium, home to South American sea lions and penguins. Visitors can book night tours and take part in special programmes for children, as well as observe giant pandas, found in only a handful of zoos worldwide.
