Gate of Dawn
CultureVisit: ~15 minFree
Aušros Vartai, the only gate of Vilnius's old city wall that survives, built in the early 16th century. Above it, a chapel houses the icon of Our Lady of Mercy, a 17th-century painting venerated by Catholics and Orthodox alike. It is a place of pilgrimage and one of the most recognisable images of the city.
