Library of Vilnius University, founded as a Jesuit college in 1570 and made a university in 1579. It is one of the oldest libraries in Eastern Europe and holds millions of volumes, manuscripts and incunabula. It stands in the university's historic ensemble, with its inner courtyards and buildings from the 16th to 18th centuries, right in the old town.
