A monument to the Portuguese Discoveries beside the Tagus, in Belém. It is shaped like the prow of a caravel and on it appear figures such as Prince Henry the Navigator at the front, followed by navigators, cartographers and missionaries. The current concrete version was inaugurated in 1960, on the fifth centenary of the prince’s death. It has a viewpoint at the top, reached by lift.
