Summer Palace of Peter the Great
Small two-storey palace built between 1710 and 1714 by Domenico Trezzini in the Summer Garden, next to the Fontanka. Simple and made of brick, with allegorical bas-reliefs on the façades, it was Peter the Great's summer residence. It keeps its original layout, with the Dutch-tiled kitchen, the bedrooms and the tsar's offices. It is one of the oldest buildings in the city.
