A historic garden behind Palazzo Pitti, created from 1549 for the Medici and expanded over the following centuries. It is an example of the Italian Renaissance garden, with walks, grottoes, fountains and sculptures. It includes the Fountain of Neptune, the Amphitheatre and the Buontalenti Grotto. From its upper parts there are good views of Florence and the hill of San Miniato.
