Opéra Bastille

The Opéra Bastille is a modern opera house facing the Place de la Bastille, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, designed by architect Carlos Ott. Inside it houses a main theatre, a concert hall and a studio theatre, and most of the Paris National Opera's productions are staged here, along with some ballet performances and symphonic concerts. The auditorium is arena-shaped, with two large balconies at the back and a few narrow balconies along the sides, and every seat offers an unobstructed view of the stage, with no boxes. At the rear of the building, two small standing areas were created, whose tickets are sold only on the night of the performance.
