A 396-metre granite monolith that rises at the entrance to Guanabara Bay, in the Urca district. You go up by cable car (the bondinho, opened in 1912) in two stages: first to Morro da Urca, at 220 metres, and then to the top of Sugarloaf. From the top you can see Botafogo beach, Corcovado with the Christ statue, Copacabana and the Rio–Niterói Bridge. It is part of a natural monument with trails and Atlantic Forest vegetation.
