Panathenaic Stadium
CultureVisit: ~45 min
A horseshoe-shaped stadium built entirely of Pentelic marble, the only one in the world with that feature. On the site of an ancient 4th-century BC venue, Herodes Atticus rebuilt it around 144 AD and it was restored for the first modern Olympic Games of 1896. It is the finish of the Athens marathon and stands next to the Pangrati district.
