Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall is a concert hall that opened in 1997 in the Tokyo Opera City tower in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The venue seats 1,632 across three levels and has a reverberation time of 1.95 seconds when occupied. Its acoustic design was based on studies of 66 concert halls in 22 countries, measurements in 23 halls in Japan, Europe and the Americas, CAD modelling and a 1:10 scale wooden model. The hall houses a pipe organ with 3,826 pipes and 54 stops, built by Orgelbau Kuhn of Switzerland and Yamaha under the supervision of Guy Bovet, as well as three Steinway D-274 pianos, a Bösendorfer 290, a harpsichord by Reinhard von Nagel and a 4-stop positive organ by Marc Garnier. It is part of a complex that also includes the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, a recital hall and the New National Theatre, plus shops and restaurants. It is dedicated to the memory of composer Takemitsu Tōru. The hall offers a regular concert programme, with an events calendar and ticket sales through its official website.
