A former Byzantine church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, built between 527 and 536 under Justinian, and regarded as a precursor of Hagia Sophia. It has an octagonal plan inscribed in a square and a dome on arches and marble columns. It became a mosque around 1500 and is now called Küçük Ayasofya, "Little Hagia Sophia". It is south of the Hippodrome, near the shore of the Sea of Marmara.
