Jerez Zoo and Botanical Garden
This is the municipal zoo and botanical garden of Jerez de la Frontera, with a collection of fauna and another of flora in the same grounds. Its conservation projects include breeding the Iberian lynx, the northern bald ibis and a biodiversity project for Jerez. Its animals include giraffes, chimpanzees, zebras, hippopotamuses and caimans. The botanical part brings together trees, palms, shrubs and succulents, with several remarkable trees and two signposted routes, the Botanical route and the Amor y Arboleda route. There is a picnic area, a children's playground and a restaurant. The big cats and primates move to their indoor enclosures an hour before closing, so it is best to see them early. The park is closed on Mondays except on public holidays and school holidays.
