A cobbled slope of traditional wooden houses (machiya) that descends towards Kiyomizu-dera temple, in Higashiyama. It connects with the neighbouring street of Sannenzaka and is near the Yasaka Pagoda, which can be seen in the background of some views of the area. It is one of the best-preserved old districts of Kyoto.
