Zen temple of the Rinzai school founded in 1605 by Nene, widow of the warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, in memory of her husband. It is situated on the Higashiyama hill, above Nene-no-michi street. The grounds include stroll gardens, a gravel garden, a small bamboo grove and two period teahouses. It is often illuminated at night in certain seasons, when the garden and the maples stand out against the dark sky.
