Plaza del Ayuntamiento
CultureVisit: ~15 min
Square created after the demolition of the San Francisco convent in 1891. It is dominated by the neoclassical town hall (1758-1930) and surrounded by early 20th-century buildings such as the Post Office (1915-1922), Telefónica and the Ateneo Mercantil. In the centre are flower stalls and the circular fountain. During the Fallas, from 1 to 19 March at 14:00, it is the setting for the mascletà, the great gunpowder barrage.
