Kasai Rinkai Park

Kasai Rinkai Park is a large coastal park in Edogawa, Tokyo, built on reclaimed land and opened in 1989. It is the second-largest park among Tokyo's 23 wards. It contains the Tokyo Sea Life Park aquarium, the 117-metre Diamond and Flower Ferris Wheel, offering views over the bay, Chiba, Tokyo Disneyland and Mount Fuji on clear days, and a bird sanctuary with an observation centre providing information on local species. The park has two beaches on artificial islands: the western island, linked by the Kasai Nagisa bridge, is popular for recreation; the eastern island is closed to the public as a protected bird habitat and a Ramsar site since 2018. It also includes an artificial white-water canal for slalom canoeing, built for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the first of its kind in Japan. Visitors can explore its landscaped areas, watch birds, stroll along the coast and use the Tokyo Mizube Cruising Line water bus, which connects to Odaiba, Hama Rikyu and Asakusa. The park is especially busy during spring hanami.
