Tokyo Metro Museum

The Tokyo Metro Museum is a railway museum in Edogawa, Tokyo, run by the Tokyo Metro Cultural Foundation. Visitors enter through an automatic ticket gate, and the tour begins with a recreation of Tokyo's first underground line, between Ueno and Asakusa, opened in 1927. The collection includes historic carriages such as an Eidan 300 from the Marunouchi Line and an Eidan 1000 from the Ginza Line. Seven exhibition zones explain the history and construction of the metro, passenger services, safety, and metro systems around the world. Visitors can enter the cab of a Series 100 car and try controls such as the motor, brakes and pantograph, as well as test driving simulators under staff supervision. The museum also has a lecture room, a lounge and a library with materials related to underground transport.
