Charlottenburg Palace, in Berlin's Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district, was a Prussian royal residence and now serves as a museum. Inside, visitors can walk through faithfully furnished rooms, such as the Porcelain Cabinet, the palace chapel and Frederick I's bedchamber, within the Baroque apartments of the Alte Schloss. The palace holds painting collections, including the most important collection of 18th-century French painting outside France, as well as holdings from other, now vanished, Prussian royal residences. The complex comprises the Alte Schloss and the Neuer Flügel, and the garden was later enriched with a belvedere, a mausoleum, a theatre and a pavilion.
