Auditorio Nacional de Música
The Auditorio Nacional de Música is Madrid's main concert hall, dedicated mainly to classical music. Opened in 1988 and designed by architect José María García de Paredes, it was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 2025. It is home to the Orquesta Nacional de España, the Coro Nacional de España and the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España. It has two main halls: the Sala Sinfónica, with 2,338 seats and a 5,700-pipe organ, and the Sala de Cámara, with 688 seats. Its programme runs continuously, with up to four concerts a day, and includes subscription seasons, series by international orchestras and the distinctive Bach Vermut series, which pairs organ concerts with vermouth and tapas. Tickets range from €10 to €190, and Bach Vermut costs €5. The building, austere on the outside, surprises visitors with its acoustics and sightlines inside.
