Kulturforum
The Kulturforum is a group of cultural buildings in Berlin, near Potsdamer Platz. It includes the Neue Nationalgalerie, the Gemäldegalerie, the Kunstgewerbemuseum, the Kupferstichkabinett, the Kunstbibliothek, the Berlin Philharmonie with its Kammermusiksaal, the Musikinstrumenten-Museum, the Staatsbibliothek, the Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut and St Matthäus-Kirche. Visitors can explore the modern architecture of Hans Scharoun and Mies van der Rohe, view exhibitions of European art from the 13th to the 20th century, attend concerts at the Philharmonie or the church, and take part in activities such as free lunchtime concerts on Wednesdays, free entry to the Neue Nationalgalerie on Thursday afternoons, and open-air summer cinema on the Piazzetta. The complex is linked to the history of the Cold War and the division of Berlin.
