The Kupferstichkabinett, or Museum of Prints and Drawings, is Germany's largest museum of graphic art and part of the Berlin State Museums. It is located at the Kulturforum, next to Potsdamer Platz. Its collection numbers more than 500,000 prints and around 110,000 works on paper, including drawings, pastels, watercolours and oil sketches, spanning from the Middle Ages to contemporary creation. Artists represented include Dürer, Grünewald, Botticelli, Rembrandt, Menzel, Kirchner, Munch, Picasso, Warhol and many others. Because works on paper are sensitive to light and air, the collection cannot be permanently displayed; instead, the museum holds regular temporary exhibitions at its Kulturforum premises. It also has a Studiensaal (study room) for consulting works, a library, research and conservation activities, and a society of friends supporting the expansion of the collection. The museum offers services such as a shop, catering and group access, and part of its collection can be viewed online.
