Sacsayhuamán
CultureVisit: ~120 min
Inca ceremonial and military complex on a hill above the north of Cusco, at about 3,700 metres. Its three zigzag terraces, made of cyclopean blocks that in some cases weigh more than a hundred tonnes, fit together without mortar. It was the setting of Manco Inca's siege in 1536 and today hosts the staging of the Inti Raymi every 24 June. It overlooks the whole city.
