A Florence museum known for housing Michelangelo's David, sculpted between 1501 and 1504 from a block of Carrara marble and about 5 metres tall including its pedestal. The gallery also holds Michelangelo's four unfinished Prisoners and a collection of Florentine painting from the 13th to the 16th century. It is on Via Ricasoli, near San Marco.
