Hindu temple dedicated to Lakshmi and Narayana (Vishnu), sponsored by the Birla industrial family and inaugurated in 1939 by Mahatma Gandhi, on the condition that it be open to all castes. Its architecture in the Nagara style of Odia inspiration, with tall towers of pink and white sandstone, is the work of Sris Chandra Chatterjee. It is on Mandir Marg, west of Connaught Place; entry is free and you must take off your shoes, and cameras are not allowed inside.
