Connaught Place
Large circular shopping plaza in the centre of New Delhi, designed by the architect Robert Tor Russell and built between 1929 and 1933 with white Neoclassical colonnades. It is organised in concentric circles (Inner and Outer Circle) with radial streets and is officially called Rajiv Chowk, although everyone knows it by its colonial name. It brings together shops, cafés and restaurants under the arches, and is the nerve centre of the capital.
