A museum of the history of science housed in Palazzo Castellani, next to the Arno and very close to the Uffizi. It preserves instruments from the Medici and Lorraine collections, such as Antonio Santucci's great armillary sphere, and the telescopes with which Galileo observed the sky. Galileo's right middle finger is also kept here, displayed in a glass vial.
