One of the most important painting museums in the world, in the building designed by Giorgio Vasari in 1560 for the magistracies of Cosimo I de' Medici. It holds the largest collection of Italian Renaissance art, with works such as Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Primavera, Leonardo da Vinci's Annunciation and Michelangelo's Doni Tondo. It is next to Piazza della Signoria.
