Church of San Esteban (Altarpiece Museum)
A Gothic church of the 13th and 14th centuries, with three naves and three apses, which was damaged by the blowing-up of the castle in 1813. Its façade stands out with a rose window, a Renaissance doorway and a Gothic cloister. Inside there is a choir at the west end with an openwork parapet by Simon of Cologne, from the 16th century, a Renaissance pulpit and late Gothic tombs by Nicolás de Vergara, Simon of Cologne and Juan de Vallejo. The church houses the Altarpiece Museum, which brings together altarpieces from the Burgos diocese from the 16th to the 18th centuries. It is part of the Merchants' Route along with San Nicolás and San Gil, with a joint ticket.
