Berlin Botanical Garden

Berlin Botanical Garden is a 43-hectare complex with around 22,000 plant species, located in the districts of Lichterfelde and Dahlem. Visitors can explore the Große Tropenhaus, the world's largest greenhouse at 25 metres tall, home to giant bamboo up to 25 metres high and a tropical climate. Other greenhouses display orchids, carnivorous plants, cacti, giant Victoria amazonica water lilies and a Welwitschia around twenty years old. Outdoors, the 14-hectare arboretum and the 13-hectare geographical gardens arrange plants by origin and botanical affinity. The site includes a botanical museum with the Herbarium Berolinense (more than 3.5 million specimens), a specialist library, a medicinal garden shaped like a human body, a Garden of Fragrance and Touch with Braille labels, and a small cemetery with the graves of Adolf Engler and Georg Schweinfurth. The garden is open every day and charges an admission fee.
