Tibidabo Amusement Park
Tibidabo is an amusement park in the Collserola range, west of Barcelona, opened in 1901 at the initiative of the pharmacist Salvador Andreu. It is the oldest operating park in Spain and one of the oldest in Europe. You reach it by tram and funicular, and the summit stands more than 500 metres above sea level. It preserves several historic pieces: the Embruixabruixes suspended monorail, from 1915, the Talaia viewing tower, from 1921, and the 1928 replica of the light aircraft that recreates the first commercial flight from Barcelona to Madrid. The Museum of Automata brings together more than 40 pieces from the 19th and 20th centuries, the oldest dating from 1880. In total there are about 30 rides spread over some 7 hectares. The Panoramic Area ticket lets you stroll around the grounds with views over the whole city and use only a few of the rides. The park turns 125 on 4 October 2026.
