The Maxim Gorki Theatre is a state theatre in the central Dorotheenstadt district of Berlin, with 440 seats. It occupies a building that was Berlin's oldest concert hall, built for the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin. It has operated as a theatre since 1952, and in the 2013/2014 season its directors Shermin Langhoff and Jens Hillje transformed it into a space reflecting the diversity of the city's population.
