Grand Choral Synagogue of Saint Petersburg
CultureVisit: ~45 minFree
A synagogue in Moorish and Byzantine style built in the late 19th century on Lermontovsky Avenue, with a large dome and a brick and stone facade. It is one of the largest synagogues in Europe and a centre of the city's Jewish community. After a period of neglect and damage in Soviet times, it was restored and is once again a place of worship and a visitor attraction.
