New Holland
LeisureVisit: ~90 minFree
Artificial island surrounded by canals, with 18th-century brick naval warehouses and a monumental entrance arch, designed by Jean-Baptiste Vallin de la Mothe. For centuries it was a military zone closed to the public. Since 2016 it has been converted into an urban space with lawns, terraces, shops, exhibitions and food, around a pond that turns into an ice rink in winter. Its most striking building is the Bottle.
