Jama Masjid
CultureVisit: ~75 min
One of the largest mosques in India, built by Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656 on a small hill opposite the Red Fort. It combines red sandstone and white marble in three great gateways, three bulbous domes and two minarets, and its immense central courtyard holds tens of thousands of worshippers. It is in the old town, at the end of Meena Bazaar street, and you must enter barefoot and in clothing that covers shoulders and legs.
