Memorial to Mahatma Gandhi on the spot where he was cremated on 31 January 1948, the day after his assassination. It is a square platform of black marble, open to the sky and without a roof, surrounded by gardens and with a flame that burns continuously. It stands beside the bank of the Yamuna river, in Old Delhi, and is a place of tribute for visitors and foreign dignitaries. You enter barefoot.
