Medieval complex in south Delhi around a large artificial reservoir dug by Alauddin Khilji in the 13th century. Firuz Shah Tughlaq built a madrasa and his own tomb, of stone and with domes, on the lakeshore around 1352. The name means "royal tank". Next to the complex lies the neighbourhood of Hauz Khas Village, with cafés, galleries and shops, and a park with deer and a lake.
